Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how VODEQ LLC (“Vodeq,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and retains personal information when you visit vodeq.com, create an account, buy digital products, use Vodeq Desktop, activate or run a Vodeq audio plugin, redeem an iOS entitlement, subscribe to studio email, or contact support.

Who we are

The controller of personal information described in this policy is VODEQ LLC, an Indiana limited liability company. We operate the Vodeq store and related services from the United States. Postal contact: VODEQ LLC, 6025 Fitchburg Pl, Fort Wayne, IN 46815, United States. Email: support@vodeq.com.

The website is the system of record for accounts, orders, licenses, downloads, and support. Vodeq Desktop and Vodeq plugins are clients of that store. They do not operate a separate customer database.

Scope

This policy covers:

  • the public website, shop, cart, checkout, and account area on vodeq.com;
  • customer authentication, including email and password, multi-factor authentication, and desktop sign-in;
  • license keys, activations, trials, offline leases, updates, and installer downloads;
  • optional plugin crash reports, feedback, and product analytics when a product has telemetry enabled;
  • optional desktop application analytics;
  • support tickets and attachments;
  • the optional studio newsletter.

Purchases of iOS apps through the Apple App Store are billed by Apple. Apple’s privacy policy governs information Apple collects as the App Store merchant. When a product is sold on both the website and iOS, we may receive entitlement information from RevenueCat so one Vodeq license can cover both platforms. That information is processed under this policy once it reaches Vodeq.

This policy does not apply to third-party websites, hosts, or DAWs you use with our software, except to the extent those products send data to us through our documented APIs.

Information we collect

Account and authentication

When you register or sign in we collect the email address you provide, a hashed password, and authentication metadata such as sign-in timestamps. If you enable multi-factor authentication we store the authenticator configuration needed to verify codes. We do not include authenticator secrets in personal-data exports. Desktop sign-in uses short-lived access tokens and refresh tokens bound to that device.

Orders and payments

Website checkout is processed by Stripe Managed Payments (Link). Stripe is the merchant of record for those sales and processes card, wallet, tax, billing address, and fraud data. We receive order identifiers, amounts, currency, tax amounts Stripe remits, fulfillment status, the email used at checkout, and limited billing or shipping address fields Stripe returns so we can complete the order record. We do not store full payment card numbers on Vodeq systems.

Licenses, devices, and downloads

To issue and enforce licenses we collect product and license identifiers, seat and activation limits, activation and deactivation events, a machine identifier generated by the plugin or desktop client, host or operating-system details sent with license or update requests, lease tokens used for offline validation, trial claims (including one trial per product per email and per machine), and download requests for signed installer links. Cross-platform products may also store RevenueCat entitlement identifiers so website and App Store purchases stay in parity.

Website use

We collect server logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL, referrer, and timestamps), first-party activity records used for support and store operations, cart contents stored in your browser session, and cookie-consent choices. If you arrive from an advertisement or campaign link we may store campaign parameters (such as UTM fields or Google click identifiers) in session storage on that device until the session ends.

Analytics and advertising (optional)

If analytics or advertising is allowed under the Cookie Policy, Google Tag Manager may load tools such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, and Amplitude. Those tools can collect device and browser information, approximate location derived from IP address, pages viewed, events such as add-to-cart or purchase, and advertising identifiers. First-party website activity we store ourselves is kept for 90 days.

Plugin telemetry

If a product enables plugin telemetry, crash reports, in-product feedback, and usage events may include a machine identifier, anonymous identifier, plugin and host version, operating system, license association when one exists, event names and properties, stack traces, and optional contact email or attachments you submit (for example logs or screenshots, within size limits). We retain this data for 24 months to diagnose issues and improve products, then delete it. Stack traces that land in our support inbox are kept until that window ends.

Desktop analytics

Vodeq Desktop may send product-usage events to our servers so we can understand reliability and feature use. Those events may include an anonymous or account-linked identifier, event name, application version, and device metadata. We retain desktop analytics events for 90 days on our servers. If export is enabled, copies may be sent to Amplitude and Google Analytics under their retention rules.

Support and communications

If you write to support we collect the message, your email, order or license details you include, and any attachments within size limits. If you join the studio list we collect the information described under Newsletter below. Transactional mail (receipts, license delivery, password resets, ticket replies) is sent because you have an account or order, not because you joined the list.

How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • create and secure accounts, including multi-factor authentication and desktop sessions;
  • run the shop, cart, and checkout, and to fulfill digital delivery of licenses and downloads;
  • calculate and display prices, and to record tax Stripe collects and remits as merchant of record;
  • issue, activate, validate, refresh, deactivate, and revoke licenses, including offline leases and trial limits;
  • keep website and App Store entitlements in parity where a product is sold on both;
  • provide customer support and investigate abuse, fraud, chargebacks, and security incidents;
  • send receipts, license mail, security notices, and other transactional messages;
  • send the studio newsletter when you have confirmed a subscription;
  • understand how the website, desktop app, and plugins are used, and to measure advertising, when you allow those categories;
  • meet tax, accounting, and legal obligations, and to enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not use personal information to make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.

Legal bases (EEA, UK, Switzerland)

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process personal information on these bases:

  • Contract. Account, checkout, fulfillment, licensing, downloads, and transactional email needed to provide the product you requested.
  • Legitimate interests. Securing the service, preventing fraud and license abuse, keeping limited first-party activity records for support, improving reliability of products you use, and operating the business. You may object as described below.
  • Consent. Optional analytics and advertising cookies and tags; confirmed newsletter signup; optional plugin diagnostics you choose to send where the product treats them as optional. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing that already occurred.
  • Legal obligation. Tax, accounting, consumer, and other records we are required to keep.

Newsletter

If you join the studio list, we store your email address, the page or flow where you signed up, the consent wording shown at that time, a timestamp, and optionally the IP address used at signup. You can opt in from a storefront form, account registration (unchecked by default), your account page, or checkout. Public signups require a confirmation click in email before we add you. If you opt in while creating an account, confirming that account email also confirms the list.

Confirmed subscribers may receive occasional product and studio emails. Every marketing message includes a physical postal address and an unsubscribe link. You can unsubscribe from any newsletter, from Account → Studio emails, or by writing support@vodeq.com. Unsubscribing does not affect receipts, license delivery, password resets, or other transactional mail. We keep unsubscribed addresses so we do not mail them again unless you later confirm a new signup. Having an account or placing an order does not, by itself, add you to the marketing list.

Cookies and similar technologies

Necessary cookies and local storage run the cart, sign-in, security, and cookie-choice memory. In the EEA, United Kingdom, Switzerland, and Brazil, analytics and advertising stay off until you allow them. Elsewhere they may run until you opt out through Privacy choices in the footer or, for advertising, until your browser sends Global Privacy Control. Details, named cookies, and controls are in the Cookie Policy.

How we share information

We share personal information with service providers that process it on our instructions to operate the store:

  • Stripe. Managed Payments / Link for checkout, tax remittance, receipts, fraud screening, and disputes. Stripe’s privacy policy applies to payment data Stripe holds as merchant of record.
  • RevenueCat. Entitlement synchronization for products sold on both the website and the Apple App Store.
  • Apple. App Store billing is between you and Apple. We may receive purchase or entitlement signals needed to attach a Vodeq license.
  • Cloudflare. Product images, installer files, and related content delivery. Cloudflare may also provide security or performance measurement on the website.
  • Email hosting. Transactional mail, newsletter delivery, and inbound support.
  • Infrastructure. Hosting, database, and backup providers that store the Vodeq application and records.
  • Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Google Ads, and Amplitude. Loaded only according to your analytics and advertising choices, except for first-party events we collect ourselves.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights, property, or safety of Vodeq, our customers, or the public, in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (in which case we will require the recipient to honor this policy or give notice of changes), or with your direction.

We do not sell personal information for money. If you allow Advertising, Google Ads and similar tools may use data for ads across other sites and apps. California treats that as “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can opt out at any time via Privacy choices in the footer. We honor Global Privacy Control as a request to turn advertising off.

International transfers

VODEQ LLC is based in Indiana, United States. We sell worldwide, including in the EEA, United Kingdom, Switzerland, and Brazil. Some providers, including Stripe, Google, Cloudflare, RevenueCat, Amplitude, and our email and hosting vendors, may process data in the United States or other countries. Those countries may not provide the same legal protections as your home country. Where a transfer tool is required, those vendors rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent mechanism, such as an adequacy decision.

Retention

  • Account credentials remain while the account is open. After you delete the account we remove the login, tracking identifiers we control, CRM notes, and newsletter subscription, and we anonymize orders, tickets, and licenses retained for tax, accounting, and fraud records.
  • Order, license, activation, and tax records are kept as long as needed to fulfill purchases, support activations, meet legal requirements, and resolve disputes.
  • Plugin telemetry older than 24 months is deleted automatically.
  • Website activity records we store ourselves and desktop analytics events we store ourselves are deleted after 90 days.
  • Cookie-consent choices are remembered for 180 days, after which we may ask again.
  • Unsubscribed newsletter addresses are kept on a suppression list.
  • Tools loaded through Google Tag Manager and processors such as Stripe keep data under their own policies.

Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the information, including encrypted transport (HTTPS), hashed passwords, scoped plugin credentials, short-lived desktop access tokens, and access controls on admin tools. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your password, license keys, and devices confidential.

Children

The store and products are intended for customers who are at least 16 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 16, write to support@vodeq.com and we will delete it.

Your choices and rights

You can update account details while signed in, change cookie preferences via Privacy choices in the footer, unsubscribe from the studio list as described above, and deactivate license seats from Account → Licenses & downloads when the product policy allows it. You can download or delete telemetry tied to your account from Account → Personal data.

Account → Download personal data includes orders, tickets, licenses, newsletter status, and site activity. It does not include authenticator secrets or payment card numbers held by Stripe.

Visitors in the EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or a portable copy of personal data we hold, and may withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. In Brazil, you may exercise rights under the LGPD, including access, correction, anonymization, deletion, and information about sharing. In California and other U.S. states with consumer privacy laws, you may request to know, access, correct, or delete personal information, and to opt out of sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

To make a request, use Account → Personal data or email support@vodeq.com. We may need to verify the email address or account associated with the request. You may use an authorized agent where the law allows it, subject to verification.

Changes

We will post updates to this page and revise the “Last updated” date. If a change materially affects how we use personal information, we will provide additional notice appropriate to the change, such as a website banner or email to the address on your account.
